Whacked my foot on a tree stump

Snows finally melted so I've been up the woods the last two days sorting out the 4th set landing on flow line. Now about a foot taller and steeper, should be so much better and more speed for the long one.

Going to be digging most days this week, so if anyone wants to come and help that would be good. Loads of work to do on the big line, want to get the first and second done by spring.

Still frozen at the woods and I'm off work for a bit so really want to do some digging got loads of things planned to do before Spring. Hope it warms up soon.

Summer pics

Got loads of pics from summer so I might as well post them.

3 new lines for next year if the ground isn't frozen all winter, should be the best summer yet.

Snowed

Way too cold to do anything at the trails, grounds frozen solid and its snowed the last two days. Had a walk up there today to check everything, some bad frost damage worse than last year. Forecast says more snow, so no digging for a while.

Digging

Pic from todays digging, this is the 6th set in our new line. Put some more dirt on the landing need to beat it and the lip but the dirts really wet and sticky.

Should be able to go straight or hip on both lines.

One step closer

It looks like we're one step closer to getting the trails legal, have heard that the council have decided that we don't need to go through the planning permission process because nobody has complained about the trails in the past. Obviously this is a huge relief for us as it means the trails are safe for now.

It also means we can get on with finishing the new lines, so there will be a dig day tomorrow. There's alot of work to do to get everything ready for Spring, so it would be good if all the locals could come down and show there support. And bring a spade if you can!

Freezing, still diggin tho

Barely been above freezing for the last few weeks. Seems we're one of the only places in the Uk who haven't had any decent snow which is bad, I really like snow. At least it means we can still dig.

Went up the woods on Sunday ground was pretty frozen but managed to find a soft bit and made the long n low hip landing taller and steeper. We also did some work on the flow line the weekend before, started on the landing for the 6th set. Will get pics when I go up on the weekend.

Weekend weather is meant to be dry and not so cold so will try and arrange a dig day, got so much work to do to get stuff ready for Spring.

Here's a pic from 603 trails blog.

Always inspirational to see the stuff these guys build. One of the best spots I've ever seen.

Stacked a new lip

Was too wet down the woods today to finish shaping the berm, so me and Rich stacked this lip.

Nearly done...

Went digging on saturday, didn't get alot done, had to put a load of tarps back on after the storm. Thought it would be worse though, new stuff has a habit of collapsing if it gets too wet lucky no damage. A bit more done on the berm.

Another berm pic

Did another day of digging on the berm, one more and it'll be done.

Big berm

Not been up the trails much, everythings tarped up for winter so no more riding for a while. We got loads of digging to do though, lots of dirt in place that just needs shaping, hopefully the weather will be good and not too cold like last year.

Spent a few hours yesterday shaping this berm, its about 5ft tall now will be 7ft+ when im done.

Weekend pics

Here's a few pics from the weekend, the jam wasn't really a jam in the end as it was just the locals, was a good ride anyway. Will make sure we organize a proper one next year.

Last ride?

Might of been the last ride of the year today, maybe we'll get a few more rides if the weather turns good again.

Been a good few days at the trails though, had a bbq and did some filming with a cable cam yesterday was really chilled. Hopefully we got enough footage for an end of season edit.

Adam tested the next jump on the flow line, landed it first time, then tailwhiped it next go, should be even better when it all riden in.

Harry on the hip long n low.

Edd, table on the berm to jump on flow line.

DON'T GET THE TRAILS PLOUGHED

You'd think people would appreciate what the council are doing for us, we are very fortunate that the council have not already destroyed our previously illegal spot, but instead made the trails official and even provided us with a digger, yet some riders couldn't give a shit and are determined to ruin it for everyone.

You know who you are, its your choice, you could have some of the best trails in the country or none at all, don't ruin it for everyone else!

From now on no one is to drive up the fire road, the land owner is kicking off and I don't think vandalising  his lock is going to help the situation.

PLEASE READ - email I received

The litter pick that was aimed at the Clyne Jumps area took place on Sunday with nobody recognisable as a regular user of this area. You should know by now that you are being watched by many who do not want to see these jumps in Clyne so it really doesn’t help the cause if riders can’t be bothered to show up for 2 hours to show these people that you are prepared to make an effort.

There was no money in the grant allocation for dirt jumps so it wasn’t easy to get the work done on them at all.

Add to this the fact that you could see riders on the trails while the litter pick was on and you can figure how support for the jumps can disappear fast along with the jumps themselves.

On another point, despite a previous request not to use the access road just to haul their lazy arses up the hill to ride bikes some guys did. From Tuesday morning there will be a new chain and lock on the gates with a different combination.

So if you don’t want to cooperate to get support for the Clyne Jumps then don’t bleat when things go wrong.

I hope this gets through to those who it concerns. Things need to change or these trails won't be here long.

Good news

The Clyne trail building contract has been awarded to Rowan Sorrell and his company Back on Track, as part of the project Rowan will be doing 5 days work with a digger and dumper at both Moos and Clyne, work will start on the 31 August.

Not sure exactly what we're gonna build but we have a rough plan for 2 new lines, gonna go up on the weekend and decide what we want to do, and clear out the lines ready for the machines. If anyone wants to come give us a hand that would be great!

Trails running really good, just a few things to sort out. Could do with some more dry weather to get new stuff run in.

Edd, table air on 8th lip.
Geoff, whip on the step up.
